BRIXTON RECREATION CENTRE

Contract value £2.85m

This 1980’s building required significant modernisation. The ground floor was refurbished first followed by work over the next three floors. This was undertaken in individual zones screened off from public access allowing the majority of the centre to remain open - thus minimising loss of revenue.

“The refurbishment has made a huge difference, resulting in an exceptional improvement in the fabric of the building, which has created a totally different and very positive ambiance”.

HUNTINGDON LEISURE CENTRE

Contract value £1.35m

The client’s requirements included expanding the fitness offer and creating new activities to attract more youngsters, from toddlers to teens. Extra space was needed to accommodate these so a
mezzanine floor was added in the Sports Hall.

“The whole project has been a huge success and our customers love it. The fitness area is really popular but it is the positive response to the new children’s activities that has really surprised us”.

WYEDEAN SCHOOL

Contract value £785k

Wyedean School is a dual use facility. The school wanted to improve facilities for curriculum use and the Council for community use. To manage the risk of time and cost overrun the project was undertaken by an experienced consortium team.

“Having all the skills required in a one stop shop was valuable to us. We are very pleased with the quality of the building work. The school’s curriculum has been given a boost and community use is significantly higher than we anticipated”.
